Two key Manchester City players expected to push for a summer move

Manchester City could lose both Leroy Sané and Gabriel Jesus this summer, as reported by Spanish football news programme El Chiringuito, who claim that the pair have grown tired of Pep Guardiola and a lack of game time.

Sané has fallen down the pecking order this season, with Bernardo Silva’s fine form in Kevin De Bruyne’s absence earning him a starting spot, pushing the German winger to the bench.

He did not start either of City’s Champions League quarter-final matches against Tottenham Hotspur, with Guardiola instead opting to play Sterling on the left and Bernardo on the right, both of whom scored in the second leg.

Gabriel Jesus, meanwhile, was seen as a long-term successor to Sergio Agüero’s throne in the middle of City’s front line. But a lack of game time – fair enough, I mean he has got fucking Agüero to compete with – has stunted his development and the Brazilian is also expected to push for a move away from the Etihad this summer.

Losing the pair would be a big blow to City’s long-term plans, after they shelled out big money to acquire their services, hoping to keep hold of them for Guardiola’s tenure and beyond.

El Chringuito also report that to replace Jesus, City are looking at Luka Jović, who has also been on the radar of Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, Jović recently signed a permanent contract with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he was playing on loan from Benfica. That will make it significantly harder, and more expensive, to sign the Bosnian striker.
