Twitter’s best work on Arsene Wenger’s tunnel antics in Arsenal’s bonkers win over Burnley

He was seen pushing the fourth official

What an end to a game.

The seven minutes of injury time at the Emirates contained more drama than an entire library of HBO boxsets.

Shkodran Mustafi had given Arsenal the lead just before the hour mark, but before the Gunners could settle in and look to close out the game, Granit Xhaka got himself sent off for a silly two-footed challenge on Burnley midfielder Steven Defour.

Still, all looked fine for the home side going into injury time, until three minutes in when Francis Coquelin fouled Ashley Barnes in the penalty area and Arsenal fan Andre Gray fired in the equaliser from the spot.

It was a sequence of events that apparently irked Arsene Wenger somewhat, and after making his feelings known to the fourth official Anthony Taylor he was sent off.

He retreated to the tunnel, but that wasn’t far enough for Taylor, who ordered him to remove himself entirely – at which point Wenger couldn’t contain himself any longer and pushed the official before a quick-thinking steward got himself in between the two men.

Still, Twitter will have its fun…

And a lot of people made the point that Jose Mourinho will be watching the FA’s response with interest…

But even that wasn’t the end of the drama, as Arsenal were then awarded a penalty of their own in the 98th minute, which Alexis Sanchez dispatched to give the Gunners a 2-1 win.
