Maybe he’d just be better off recording it from the telly.
Diafra Sakho had plenty to celebrate on Tuesday evening. Not only did West Ham beat Manchester United by three goals to two in a thrilling final game at the Boleyn Stadium, but the Senegalese forward topped off a fine display with the opening goal on the 10 minute mark.
Add that to the cockney-geddon that transpired after the game, complete with lights display, live music and black cabs, and it was certainly a night to remember. Sakho was clearly soaking in the East End knees up when he reentered the pitch after the game with his fellow pros.
In the hope of snapping a few keepsakes of the special night, the 26-year-old brought out his camera phone, attached to a selfie stick. Of course the very point of the expandable aid is to allow you to take photographs requiring greater range than the length of your arm.
Or so we thought. It seems Sakho’s understanding is somewhat different. It involves holding the stick backwards in a fashion that makes it more cumbersome and complicated than just holding the phone in your hand. It was almost Van Gaal levels of making life difficult for himself…
