Tributes pour in for England Women’s Under-19 footballer killed in train accident

Friends, family and fans have been paying tribute to an 18-year-old England footballer who has died this week after a train accident.

Zoe Tynan was a midfielder for the England Women's Under-19s team. She died after being hit by a train at West Allerton station in Merseyside on Tuesday, reports the Liverpool Echo. Police confirmed an 18-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. They are not treating the death as suspicious. Tynan started her youth career with Liverpool Feds before having a long spell at Everton. In 2015 she joined Manchester City before signing for Women's Premier League side Fylde Ladies. Martin Glenn, FA chief executive officer, said: “On behalf of The FA, I would like to send our heartfelt condolences to Zoe’s family. Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult and tragic time.” Fylde Ladies manager Luke Swindlehurst added: “We all want to remember Zoe in the best possible way. A hugely talented player with the best possible attitude and an immensely likable character.
