Several riders were hit with liquid as police restrained the protesters

The Tour de France race has been stopped after protesters at the side of the road rolled hay into the riders path. It is believed that a French policeman then accidentally sprayed several cyclists with pepper spray while trying to restrain a protester. Doctors and paramedics treated the riders at the side of the road and the race has since commenced. The protesters halted the peloton on stage 16 of the race from Carcassonne to Bagnères de Luchon. https://twitter.com/FRYTG/status/1021702655922634752
