As Liverpool dithered with the ball in defence, with City ready to pounce on any loose ball, Carragher blurted out an instinctive noise reminiscent of his colleague Gary Neville's famous
goalgasm when Fernando Torres sealed Chelsea's place in the Champions League final in 2012.
Neville said he wanted Carragher's yelp as his ring tone, and Sky Sports duly obliged.
