He may have to wait a few months to be crowned the best 145 lber in the world, but there's one element of the fight game in which Conor McGregor is the pound-for-pound greatest.
We've seen trash talkers come and go over the years in the octagon. Chael Sonnen, Michael Bisping, Tito Ortiz, the Diaz brothers and Daniel Cormier have all gotten the fight started with mind games before a punch was even thrown.
But UFC commentator Joe Rogan has seen and heard it all before. However, it will surprise nobody to learn that it's a certain mouthy Irishman who he's singled out for the accolade of "best shit talker ever."
On a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience featuring Muay Thai superstar John Wayne Parr, Rogan branded Conor McGregor a genius for the way that he continues to needle away at his opponents with his bravado, braggadocio and other fancy words for "talking shit."
Rogan and Parr pointed to September's Go Big press conference during which McGregor essentially brought every single fighter on stage down a peg by claiming that "it's red panty night," when a fight with McGregor is offered.
