This Leicester fan cashed out on big Premier League title bet for a pretty good reason

Ben Kenyon

What would you do with big money riding on Leicester City to win the Premier League?

Claudio Ranieri’s men are still holding on to the top spot after some crazy twists and turns in the past week in an enthralling title race.

Pundits have been saying all season that City’s unbelievable run will come crashing down – but with 10 games to go they’re still hanging in there.

We’ve already seen one Foxes fan cave in and cash out on a bet when Leicester lost 2-1 to Arsenal – and the internet just couldn’t understand it.

But now another supporter with potential £10,000 winnings has cashed in his chips early.

Film student Nathan Finlow had £2 on his club to win the title at the start of the season – back in the days when bookies were falling over themselves to give odds of 5000/1 to take your money.

But the 20-year-old decided to take the money and run after Leicester’s draw with West Brom, according to the Sport Review. He got a cool £1,600 for his troubles.

To be fair to the lad he has a pretty good reason for wanting money in the bank rather than sweat it out to see if Leicester can go all the way.

“I was going to hold out but following the late equaliser against West Brom I thought I should just take the money and run,” he said.

“I’m still hopeful we win the league and we gave it everything against the Baggies, but we could just be unlucky along the way.

“I should really pay off some student debts but we’re guaranteed to be in Europe next season so I can’t turn down a once in a lifetime experience like that.”
