There will be an incredible amount of condoms at the Rio 2016 Olympic Village

Plenty of lube too

We’ve all heard the rumours about the Olympic Village.

The headlines for London 2012 dubbed the last Olympic Games “The Raunchiest Olympics Ever” but, according to reports, more hanky panky than ever before is expected in Rio next month.

The Daily Beast reports that an astonishing 450,000 condoms (350,000 male and 100,000 female) will be provided to the athletes competing in Rio and, after doing the maths, that works out as just under 43 condoms per athlete.

That’s three times the number of prophylactics that were in London four years ago and easily cements Rio 2016’s legacy as the most latex-heavy Olympics in history.

But it’s not just condoms that are being shipped in at an alarming rate. The report also claims that 175,000 packets of lube will also be available for the athletes, the cheeky devils.

That’s an awful lot of lubrication for a 17-day stint but, hey, who are we to expect dry sex for our Olympic heroes?

After training so hard for four years just to make the plane to Brazil, we guess they’re allowed to enjoy themselves once the competitions are done and dusted.
