The story of Mayweather v Pacquiao, told by Twitter…

JOE

The Fight of the Century didn’t exactly live up to its billing as Floyd Mayweather’s defensive masterclass earned him a points victory against Manny Pacquiao.

But for those who stayed up late (or got up early), there was still plenty of hype to enjoy as well as some powerful punches when the two fighters finally came together.

For those who didn’t watch on pay-per-view, here’s the story of the night as told by Twitter…

Manny Pacquiao had plenty of energy early on landing a heavy blow on Mayweather…

The Filipino was the obvious crowd favourite, and whipped up more support when he looked to catch Mayweather again.

However, despite those brief successes for PacMan, Mayweather came back hard in typical fashion.

Still, some people weren’t entirely enthused by the welterweight match-up…

As the fight continued, Mayweather’s evasion tactics became a source of frustration. Pacquiao was running out of time but couldn’t get near his opponent, leaving the audience less than impressed…

But Mayweather showed he wasn’t afraid to take it at times, and even taunted Pacquiao Rocky-style.

Ain’t so bad…

And, although Mayweather’s celebration was met with loud boos, he didn’t seem to care.
