According to reports in France, Djibril Cisse has been detained by police over a plan to blackmail a French international over an alleged sextape.

Cisse and three other individuals were placed in police custody in connection with the alleged blackmail of Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Mathieu Valbuena.

It is unknown at this stage whether the intimate video recording of Valbuena actually exists, but Agence France-Presse report that there have been attempts to extort money from the player.

Four people, including Cisse, were taken into custody on Tuesday morning in connection with extortion attempt, according to sources 'close to the case'.
