Teen gets graduation photos taken before spotting explicit graffiti in the background

Why you should always check first.

Rebecca Keane

Graduation photos. Those indelible mementos of your youth that you’ll cherish forever.

That, or at the very least, one of the few times you’ll probably be in front of a pro photographer and something your nan will have displayed prominently in her house.

As such they are something you’re going to want to get it right. Or at the very least not embarrass yourself.

Which is where one girl, Alexis Boatfield, inadvertently struggled.  She had photos taken for her special occasion but unfortunately it wasn’t until years later that the student looked at her photos and noticed something very awry.

A current student at Bowling Green State University, Alexis was browsing some old snaps with her boyfriend when she saw some very rude graffiti behind her.

Speaking to Buzzfeed, Alexis said she’s used this photo for forms, documents and even her Facebook, all without noticing the graffiti behind her.
