Simon Grayson has been appointed Sunderland's new manager.
Grayson left Preston North End after four years in charge to become David Moyes' successor at the Stadium of Light.
The former Leeds United manager will have a very tough task on his hands at Sunderland, who were relegated from the Premier League last season without putting up much of a fight.
The club will lose several players who are out of contract and lost Jermain Defoe, their best player, on a free transfer to Bournemouth.

Grayson has signed a three-year deal to become Sunderland's 10th manager in 10 years. The 47-year-old brought Preston into the Championship and did a respectable job, helping them to two 11th place finishes.
However, he must have seriously pissed off Mike Parry along the way.
The TalkSPORT presenter went on a Twitter rant when Grayson was appointed, labelling the former Leeds manager a "serial loser" and "hopeless."

He would emigrate if Grayson was made manager of his club.

Grayson just has to do a better job than Moyes at Sunderland, so the bar is pretty low, but Parry really isn't a fan.

Even when Grayson's respectable record was pointed out to him, Parry wasn't convinced.

Apparently, Grayson is a winner "at losing."
