The 2025/26 Premier League relegation battle is the first in recent memory with the potential to be more memorable than the season's title race.
This is all due to Tottenham Hotspur, whose persistent and continued poor results over past weeks, now sees them in with a real chance of demotion to the English second tier, in what would be the most shocking relegation in the Premier League's over 30-year history.

For those unwilling to leave it all to chance, who would perhaps relish the opportunity to peer forwards into the future, to see what is most likely to take place, there is yet hope.
Thanks to leading football statistics experts Opta, a predicted Premier League table has been laid out.
Making use of stats like expected goals and expected wins, Opta have generated a total of expected points for each Premier League side.
These totals have all been tallied up and ranked up against each other to predict what the final Premier League table is most likely to look like.

The prediction brings difficult news for Tottenham Hotspur fans.
Following their defeat to Sunderland on Sunday, that extended their brutal record of still having not won a Premier League came in 2026, Opta predict that Spurs will finish 18th at the end of the campaign.
That result would see them relegated, while West Ham would survive.
The predicted final six are as follows:
