Super computer predicts final Premier League standings

With another international break imminent, the Premier League may not be at the forefront of everyone's mind.

Nevertheless, talkSPORT has revealed that the clever folk at stats.com have managed to work out this year's final standings - determining 'expected points' by using complex algorithms. The table doesn't make pretty reading for Sunderland fans. Perhaps unsurprisingly after their abysmal start to the season, they find themselves bottom of the table. Joining them in the relegation zone will be Aston Villa and Bournemouth, while Watford narrowly avoid the drop. Manchester City will become champions again, picking up 80 points - two more than runners-up Arsenal. Manchester United will go one better than last year and finish third, ahead of Chelsea who will manage to make a Champions League spot despite their poor start to the season. Jurgen Klopp's imminent arrival will seemingly help Liverpool achieve fifth place, seven points away from a top four finish.
