Sir Jim Ratcliffe told he’s ‘worse than the Glazers’ by angry fans after win over Fulham

Fans made their feelings clear

Sir Jim Ratcliffe was given a reality check yesterday after United’s 1-0 over Fulham as he was hounded by angry fans as he exited Craven Cottage.

Footage circulating on social media shows fans making their feelings clear on the Manchester United minority owner’s decision to increase ticket prices.

Fans have been left furious after the club decided to raise matchday ticket prices midseason to £66 per game, with no concessions for children or pensioners.

Protests at Old Trafford before December’s game against Everton showed hundreds of disgruntled supporters come together to let the club know their feelings on the matter.

Sir Jim responded to the protests days later by doubling down and saying: “I don’t think it makes sense for a Manchester United ticket to cost less than a ticket to see Fulham.

“I don’t want to end up in a position where the genuine local fans can’t afford to come, but I do want to optimise the ticketing.

“We need to find a balance. And you can’t be popular all the time either.”

Britain’s richest man rolled his windows down as he was being driven away from Craven Cottage thinking fans were after a photo, but instead he was met with abuse.

“£66… you are taking the p***” one fan shouted while another said: “What are you doing, mate? We’re locals. Come on, sort it out.”

Sir Jim sighed as he said: “Oh come on,” before hastily rolling up his window.

Further taunts of ‘You’re worse than the glazers’ and chants of ‘Jim Ratcliffe’s a c**t, Jim Ratcliffe’s a c**t – just like the Glazers, Jim Ratcliffe’s a c**t’ could be heard as he drove away.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made a series of controversial decisions since his arrival just over a year ago, axing Sir Alex Ferguson as global ambassador and making 250 employees redundant with further staff cuts rumoured over the coming months according to sources close to the club.

So far, the 72-year-old has not endeared himself to fans, especially since they have yet to see any improvement on the pitch.
