Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly out of hospital less than a month after surgery.

The former Manchester United boss has returned home to be cared for by his family according to The Sun.

Fergie was placed in an induced coma less than a month ago at Salford Royal Hospital, but now the prognosis for his health is ‘extremely promising’ and the Scot is currently ‘back on his feet’ and hoping to return to his place in the Manchester United Director’s box next season.

Fergie’s first words after coming out of the coma were said to have been “How did Doncaster get on?”, referring to his son Darren’s job as manager of Doncaster Rovers, who did lose to Wigan 1-0 whilst Ferguson was in theatre.

A source told The Sun: “Everyone knows Sir Alex is a winner and this was one battle he was never going to lose.

“He’s back on his feet and glad to be out of hospital, though he couldn’t be more grateful to the staff.”

Hopefully now he can put his feet up and enjoy the World Cup.
