Shouting match quickly ensues after Darren Till’s career highlight

Destined to fight each other

Darren Till doesn’t mess about.

The Liverpool welterweight stayed true to his promise of calling out Mike Perry once he dispensed with Donald Cerrone in the main event of UFC Gdansk.

A slight underdog, Till needed less than a round to put away the sixth-ranked 170lber in the world and skyrocket himself into stardom in the process.

Cerrone represented the big-name win required for Till to reach the next level and, following on from his stunning stoppage of ‘Cowboy’, the undefeated Brit backed up exactly what he said he’d do.

“As soon as I knock Donald out I’m calling him [Perry] into the cage to see if he’s got the balls to do that, to come in and face me,” Till told MMA Fighting ahead of the biggest fight of his career.

And he pretty much nailed it.

As Till got on the microphone for his post-fight interview with Dan Hardy, the figure of Mike Perry approaching the cage caught his eye.

Perry, the outspoken 170lber who was in Gdansk as a guest fighter, roared into the Octagon and Till roared right back.

“I’m a real welterweight,” Perry shouted. “You don’t want any fucking part of me, boy.”

Perry is currently scheduled to meet Argentina’s Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC on Fox 26 in December but, if he is victorious, we would love nothing more than to see the power of ‘Platinum’ against the precision of Till at some point in 2018.
