Sergio Ramos swapped his shirt for a tray of meat because he’s a maverick

More like Sergio ham-os.

Plenty of footballers have played at Real Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

Plenty of people have been seen with a smile on their face after receiving some free pork.

Only a true genius can achieve both of these things on the same day, but Sergio Ramos is not like most men.

The Spanish international was in action for Los Blancos during their 3-0 win over Real Sociedad, and according to the Daily Mail he saw a sign in the crowd offering him a tray of pork in lard if he handed over his match-worn shirt.

Now, Sergio is no idiot. He knows you should never pass up the opportunity to get free pork, because who knows when you’ll get that chance again.

So, this happened.

Ramos knows exactly what he’s doing. He most likely has hundreds if not thousands of football shirts back home, and – one would assume – at most maybe three or four trays of pork. Maybe five if he’s having family round.

And that’s before you realise, like our hero here, that you can’t even eat football shirts. Pork, on the other hand, is easy to eat – almost as if it is packaged precisely for that purpose.

And to think people have the nerve to call footballers stupid.
