The young mascot couldn’t quite believe his eyes

New Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane began life in Germany with a bang as he bagged a debut goal in the club’s 6-1 win over Eintract Frankfurt.

The Senegalese attacker impressed on the pitch, but he also left one of his opponents’ mascots completely starstruck before the game had even began.

Unsurprisingly, Bundesliga fans were excited to see the former Liverpool man in the flesh after he signed for Julian Nagelsmann’s side on a three-year contract from the Reds in a £35m deal in June.

And now, hilarious footage has shown the priceless moment when Mane walks past an Eintracht Frankfurt mascot after shaking hands with his opponents and the match officials.

The youngster couldn’t quite believe his eyes as the winger made his way towards him before making his way to his position on the pitch.

In a video posted on the Bundesliga’s Twitter account, the mascot is seen waiting in anticipation for the 30-year-old.

During his time with Liverpool, Mane won the Premier League, the Champions League, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup – registering 120 goals and 48 assists in 269 appearances.

He also scored the penalty that won his country the Africa Cup of Nations back in February, as well as helping them to secure World Cup qualification.

Mane has enjoyed a successful start to his Bayern career, heading a cross home as Bayern ran riot in Frankfurt on the opening day of the season.

Nagelsmann’s men won 6-1 thanks to goals from Mane, Joshua Kimmich, Benjamin Pavard, Serge Gnabry and a brace from Jamal Musiala.

The reigning Bundesliga champions face off against Wolfsburg in their next top-flight match on August 14.
