Ryan Reynolds sends Zayn Malik a cracking birthday message

Paul Moore

It’s impossible not to love Deadpool.

With the news that Deadpool 2 will be released sooner than expected, fans of the Merc with a Mouth must feel like it’s time “to make the chimi-fuckin’-changas.”

Ryan Reynolds has gotten himself into remarkable shape ahead of the film and with the promise that there’s going to be even more action than the first, May 18 can’t come around quickly enough.

Given the fact that Wade Wilson – better known as Ryan Reynolds to his parents – is consistently brilliant on social media, we’re not exactly surprised to see that he’s wishing one of his more ‘famous’ fans a happy birthday.

Deadpool himself sent the former One Direction star a birthday message that he’ll never forget. He opened by saying “Zayn! It’s Wade. Don’t hang up! I just wanna wish you a very happy birthday. Again. Uh, I also want to apologise for jumping out of the cake like that. I didn’t realise it was the middle of the night, I had no idea it was in the middle of your bedroom.  I wanna thank your security… who were very, very gentle… and creative with uh, the taser. So, anyway. Happy birthday to you and Mr. Tim Horton. You share your birthday with a very special Canadian who is very near and dear to my heart.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Reynolds had a few words for a member of One Direction. When Louis Tomlinson became a father, the star of Just Friends and Buried was asked to give him some advice.  “He’s going to be fine. I don’t know him personally, but I’m sure he’s going to make a wonderful dad. Actually, I’m not sure of that because I don’t know him,” he said.

As for Deadpool 2, Josh Brolin (Cable), Zazie Beetz (Domino) are there for the ride along with Deadpool’s old gang of Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al) and Karan Soni (Dopinder).

John Wick co-director David Leitch is taking over the director’s chair on the sequel and it’s set to be an absolute riot.
