Interviewed after the game by Sky Sports, the United assistant manager revealed that he had no regrets about opting to pursue a career in football - especially given the physical side of rugby.
"I try to get to as many games as I can, but when you're live and you can hear the tackles - I picked the right sport," Giggs confessed.
Giggs had been at the Super 8s as a guest of St. Helens chairman Eamonn McManus, but admitted his rugby league allegiances lay with Wigan.
