Welcome to Sky Sports, Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge revealed what he felt Roy Keane would be worth in today’s transfer market before dropping an impression of the former Manchester United midfielder’s famous phrase.

Sturridge was on punditry duty alongside Keane and Micah Richards as they watched Chelsea be held to a 1-1 draw against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring for the away side after he was on the receiving end of Mohamed Salah’s defence-splitting pass before stroking the ball past debutant Robert Sanchez.

Axel Disasi then equalised on his debut for Chelsea, prodding home from close range as Liverpool failed to clear their lines from a set piece.

Chelsea showed more intent in the second half and grew into the game but ultimately neither side could find a winner and were both made to settle for the draw.

After the game, when discussing the impact of Enzo Fernandez in the middle of the park, Sturridge asked Keane if he would’ve enjoyed playing in the game today before admitting that he reckons Keane would be worth in the region of £115m in today’s transfer market.

Later in the programme, the punditry trio reacted to Jurgen Klopp’s assessment of Mohamed Salah’s behaviour after he was substituted.

Salah looked furious as he left the pitch and while Sturridge somewhat sympathised with the Egyptian’s reaction, Richards felt he acted like “a baby” to which Sturridge promptly reacted by copying Keane’s famous catchphrase, leaving him utterly stunned.

As if it couldn’t get any better, Sturridge signed off in style by being asked to sing ‘seven o’clock’ by Usher at the request of Richards.

Fair to say we can’t wait to see more of Sturridge on our screens this season.
