Ross Barkley is currently pondering his next career move.

Barkley has a year left on his current contract at Everton, and has stalled over committing his future to the club.

However, according to Ronald Koeman, he better get a move on and make up his mind, or he’ll be sold.

The Everton manager has given the 23-year-old midfielder until the final game of the Premier League season, away to Arsenal, to decide his future or he’ll be on his way out of Goodison Park.

“Either he accepts the contract or we sell the player,” Koeman told reporters on Thursday afternoon.

“But if you need so much time then you have doubts. I like to work with players who like to stay. We are already trying to get players in for next season in the front positions.

“It is up to the player and he needs to make a decision.

“We don’t wait ’till August – next weekend we need an answer.”

Koeman also revealed that Everton have already started looking at replacements for Barkley.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the England midfielder, but it’s difficult to imagine he would start ahead of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen or Son Heung-min.

Barkley has impressed at times for Everton this season, with four goals and eight assists in the Premier League. However, is he good enough to play for a team in the Champions League?

He has yet to fully convince, and Koeman doesn’t seem too worried about the prospect of losing him.
