Real Madrid reportedly ready to splurge £250m before transfer ban kicks in

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to break the bank ahead of their transfer ban.
On Thursday, we reported that Real and Atletico Madrid were facing a year-long transfer ban after 'irregularities in the signing of minors'. Both clubs insist they will appeal the FIFA sanctions but The Sun are reporting that Real are hedging their bets... to the tune of £250m. The newspaper report that Los Blancos will try to force through five mega-money deals by the end of the January transfer window. The targets include Eden Hazard [£80m] and a litany of other top talents - Robert Lewandowski, David De Gea, Sergio Aguero and, while they are at it, Paul Pogba.
They would be doing well to get that lot for £250m.
Actually, there's more. The Daily Star are reporting that Real will also subsume Harry Kane and John Stones into their plush, velvet galaxy.
Other reports, however, have Real Madrid forcing through the De Gea transfer with a sizeable, shiny carrot named Cristiano Ronaldo.
A more likely outcome, in our opinion, is an appeal that stalls the ban until the summer and allows both Madrid clubs to come up with a summer transfer game-plan.Explore more on these topics:
