Italian news outlet CalcioMercatoWeb claim Liverpool have checked on the availability of former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, should Brendan Rodgers fail to see out the season.

Ancelotti has been without a job since the summer when he left Real Madrid, claiming that he wanted to take a year out of management to take care of some health problems.
