Reports: Diego Simeone has agreed a huge contract to become Chelsea manager

Chelsea look to have moved for one the biggest names left on the market.

Reports in Spain are suggesting Diego Simeone has informed his current bosses at Atletico Madrid that he wishes to move to the Stamford Bridge next season.

OK Diario claims the Argentina legend has already agreed a contract with Chelsea worth €12million a year as the Blues seek a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho.

With Pep Guardiola out of the frame having signed on at Manchester City, Simeone would represent an exciting appointment for the reigning Premier League champions amidst a torrid season.

The 45-year-old is believed to want a new challenge after breaking the Real-Barcelona axis of dominance with a La Liga title in 2013-14, an appearance in the Champions League final the same season and a Europa League triumph in 2012.

Atleti are once again contending for the Spanish title this season, and are still in Europe’s elite competition where they take on PSV Eindhoven in the last 16.
