LaLiga allows three non-EU players to be on the pitch
Real Madrid are unable to sign anymore non-European players due to rules around the amount of European players that are required to be on the pitch.
As reported by
Marca, La Liga regulations state that the Spanish league allows three non-EU players to be on the pitch.
Given that Los Blancos have Militao, Vinicius, and Rodrygo in their ranks - with none of the three players able to obtain dual nationality until January - the LaLiga champions are unable to sign anymore non-European players until the issue is resolved.
It also affects Kubo and Reinier - two younger players who are also non-EU nationals.

The report adds that Madrid's search for an eventual Karim Benzema replacement is therefore currently limited to players with a community passport.
Vini Jr still waiting for passport
Manchester City striker and Arsenal-linked Gabriel Jesus has been touted as a transfer target for Madrid, however, the Brazilian would evidently not meet the passport requirements.
Marca add that after two years of residence in Spain, citizens of certain countries can apply for dual nationality and obtain the approval months later. However, due to the pandemic, Vinicius didn't get his passport.
Given that the attacker arrived at the Santiago Bernabéu in July 2018, and with the parameters met, the Spanish government would have already granted the passport to the 21-year-old - but he is still waiting to receive it.
Arsenal poised for Jesus move
Madrid's situation could open to door for Arsenal to take advantage and sign Jesus in the summer, with manager Mikel Arteta keen to add another forward with Alexandre Lacazette leaving at the end of the month. It is thought that the Gunners have already held talks with Jesus' agent, Marcelo Pettinati.
Eddie Nketiah is expected to extend his contract at the Emirates until 2027, which would mean he is currently their only senior striker in the squad.
