With the news that breakdancing has been dropped from the Olympics in Los Angeles 2028, questions have been asked about what is next for viral B-Girl Raygun.
The Australian whose real name is Rachael Gunn, spoke about the decision to axe the sport for the next Olympics saying it was ‘premature’.
She said: "What is an Olympic sport? What are the similarities between dressage and artistic swimming and the 100m sprint and the pentathlon?
"Breaking is clearly athletic, it clearly requires a whole level of dedication across a number of different aspects. It’s really bringing a new level of excitement."
The sport made its Olympic debut in Paris. Competitors went head-to-head for three rounds in the heats with breakers given one minute to perform per round.
Raygun failed to score a single point and was knocked out of the competition.
However, the Australian star may already have a new career lined up.
The University lecturer who is Australia’s top-ranked female breakdancer found herself at the centre of viral memes after her original moves such as the kangaroo hop.
Now she could capitalise on that newfound fame as she is tipped to join an iconic TV show.
It has been predicted Gunn could appear on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and oddsmakers Crypto Sports Betting have put her on 6/4 odds to feature on the next season of the show in Australia.
The odds of her appearing on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Here currently sit at 4/1, while the possibility of her own reality TV show is currently 9/1.
Meanwhile, the chances of her appearing at the next Olympics for Team Australia currently stand at 33/1.
Yesterday, one of the judges, MGbility said he was a fan of Gunn’s originality despite not giving her any points for the routine.
He said: “The breaking and hip hop community definitely stands behind her. She was just trying to bring something new, something original and something that represents her country.”
Perhaps her originality and creativity will be more appreciated on reality TV.
It has also been reported that Raygun could seriously capitalise on her now viral fame.
As Raygun is without a doubt one of the most famous faces of the 2024 Olympics, its likely that she could make millions off the back of her 'different' performance.
Raygun's likely to be offered many sponsorship deals for big brands and could really start raking in the money.
It's certainly not looking too bad for the Aussie star.
