Rafael dos Anjos hits out at Conor McGregor for UFC 200 no-show

"I think Conor found a way to run away from Diaz again."

The lightweight UFC champion may not have perfect English.

But he knows how to land a quick verbal 1-2 that is sure to enrage Conor McGregor even more in his UFC dispute.

Rafael dos Anjos has recovered from the broken foot that ruled him out of UFC 196 and is ready for action this July.

The Brazilian is facing Eddie Alvarez at UFC 200 this summer, and in Friday’s press conference he was asked his thoughts on the dispute between Conor McGregor and the promotion.

As has been well explained at this stage, the Irishman is tired of the over-exposure he has allegedly been forced to endure as the biggest UFC star at present, and just wants to fight.

The UFC say that’s not how it works, and there is currently a lot of eyeballing going on between both sides.

Dana White admitted that the former plumber will not fight Nate Diaz at UFC 200 after failing in his media duties, and simply because other fighters turned up for what was required of them this week in Las Vegas.

McGregor has received some support from other fighters, but Dos Anjos is clearly a company man, judging by his comments last night when asked what he makes of the 27-year-old’s non-appearance in Vegas.

“Everybody has…as Dana said, I was supposed to be in Singapore training now, I cancelled all my trips to be here, I’m leaving for Singapore tomorrow and you know, I think Conor found a way to run away from Diaz again.”

Fighting words…
