A Premier League footballer arrested on suspicion of child sex offences has had his bail extended until April 17, as reported by Sky Sports.
The player - who cannot be named for legal reasons - has now had his bail extended on four occasions, with police continuing their investigation into the alleged offences.
The unnamed footballer was arrested on Friday 16 July, 2021 and has been on police bail since July 23.
Greater Manchester Police previously confirmed that he would remain on bail until January 2022 at least, but that has now been extended until April 17.
In August, the player's club confirmed that he had been suspended pending the police investigation, stating: "The club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time."
Following the most recent bail extension, the club added: "The club will continue to support the authorities with their inquiries and will not be making any further statement at this time."
