No tactics, just vibes
Portsmouth’s Michael Jacobs went viral on social media after his unique cushioned header during their game against Charlton Athletic on Monday night.
Although they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Fratton Park it was Jacobs’ inventive piece of skill that was the main talking point of the game on the South Coast.
Coming off the bench in the 75th minute and looking to get Pompey back into the game, the 30-year-old looked like he had ended an attack for the home side after falling over on the slippery surface.
However, instead of letting the attack die, Jacobs improvised and managed to somehow cushion a header which was inch-perfect for teammate George Hirst to latch onto.
Unfortunately for the home side it didn’t lead to a dramatic last-minute equaliser, but many took to social media to describe it as the pass of the season.

One user said on Twitter: “This is the single greatest pass in the history of the beautiful game.”

Another user said: “The weight of pass couldn’t of (sic) been better,” followed by three laughing faces and a lion emoji.
Meanwhile another user gave a shout out to the pass before Jacobs’ unorthodox technique, claiming that it was almost as good.

The defeat for Portsmouth leaves Danny Cowley’s side in 12th place in League One and are 12 points behind the final play-off spot.
