Piers Morgan slams Ten Hag again after Man United defeat

Another day, another Piers Morgan rant

Piers Morgan continued his scathing criticism of Erik ten Hag after Manchester United’s derby day defeat.

Morgan has been extremely vocal in his thoughts on Ten Hag, none more so than when he conducted a bombshell interview with Cristiano Ronaldo last year, where the Dutchman was a contributing factor in Ronaldo’s frustrations at the time.

Once again, Morgan used his platform to call out Ten Hag and single out one of his signings, Rasmus Hojlund, for his lack of goals in a United shirt.

He posted: “As Manchester United get humiliated by City at home, a reminder that Erik Ten Hag drove @Cristiano out of the club and said he’d lose no sleep over it… and that the same @Cristiano has since scored 43 goals for club & country this year. The guy’s a total fraud.”

United were second best against neighbours Manchester City and rarely looked like troubling the Premier League champions.

Haaland was the star of the show and opened the scoring as he converted the penalty that was awarded by VAR after Rasmus Hojlund was adjudged to have pulled back Rodri in the box.

The Norwegian then doubled his and City’s tally early into the second half as he nodded home Bernardo Silva’s delicious cross.

Phil Foden then finished the game off as he got on the end of Haaland’s teasing ball to make sure of a brilliant win for the Premier League champions.

Despite the heavy defeat, Ten Hag insisted that United were “on the way up”.

“If you see all three games we played very well against them,” he said.

“The three games before we won, and the spirit is very good, so I think we are on the way up.”
