Juan Mata was replaced by Marouane Fellaini and, more importantly, Marcus Rashford made way for Anthony Martial. Within 10 minutes, United had scored another three goals, and the game went from being a stodgy narrow win, to an emphatic victory.
Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Martial got the goals for United, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan providing two assists.
The performance of Martial was particularly impressive. For the second consecutive game, the French forward came off the bench to score, and he played a part Lukaku's goal.
Martial's performance was in contrast to Rashford's display during his time on the field. The 19-year-old was bright and showed flashes of quality in the game, but lacked an end product at times and missed a one-on-one chance in the first-half. It isn't a surprise to see a young player show such inconsistency, and there's no doubt Rashford will develop into a very good footballer.
However, aspects of his game on Saturday, left some United fans frustrated - particularly his passing, or rather his failure to pass to teammates when in the final third.
Several times in the match, Rashford failed to release the ball, choosing instead to try dribble past opponents. He'll have better games, but has plenty of time to smooth out the rough edges of his game.
