Pedro has named the fastest player at Chelsea and it might surprise you

We would have put our money on Willian

There are plenty of speedsters at Stamford Bridge nowadays.

On more than one occasion this season, Pedro has been utilised as an option from the Chelsea bench to punish the tiring legs of opponents with his pace.

But Pedro has not even put himself in the top three fastest players in Antonio Conte’s side.

The winger has named one of Chelsea’s newest arrivals as the paciest at the club, with Willian and Charly Musonda forced to settle for honourable mentions.

“It’s difficult because there are many fast players. Charly Musonda, Willian, Davide Zappacosta,” Pedro told Soccer AM.

“I don’t know. N’Golo Kante does a lot of running and doesn’t stop running.

“Those four guys are probably the fastest.

“Who would win a 100m race? Probably Zappacosta.”

Zappacosta, an Italy international, signed for Chelsea from Torino for a reported fee of £23 million on deadline day.

The right back scored on his full debut for the Blues, in a 6-0 victory over Qarabağ in the Champions League, and has gone on to make 13 appearances for his new club in all competitions.

Zappacosta was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Newcastle on Saturday afternoon, a result which kept Conte’s team in third place in the Premier League table.
