Patrice Evra spent his afternoon helping homeless people

Great stuff from the former Manchester United defender.

During his time at Old Trafford, Patrice Evra became a cult-hero of the Stretford End faithful due to his undoubted talent, commitment and loyalty to the club.

In fact, according to journalist Oliver Kay, this was destined to happen as seen by this anecdote.

“On his first day as a Manchester United player, Patrice Evra asked Gary Neville for directions to the nearest church. His captain was racking his brain, trying to recall whether he had seen one near the club’s training ground in Carrington, when the new signing smiled and said that he simply needed somewhere where he could ‘thank God for letting me join the biggest club in the world,” Kay said.

The Frenchman and Manchester United turned out to be a match made in heaven. Before he moved to Juventus, Evra had won 5 Premier League titles, 3 League Cups, the FIFA Club World Cup and the Champions League at Old Trafford.

The left-back will always be a hero to Manchester United fans, but even if you don’t support United, Evra’s most recent charitable act is extremely decent.

The defender is currently playing for Marseille and he spent the afternoon helping a few homeless people in the city.

Evra posted the following message on Instagram “Just enjoying my Monday in Marseille. The sad part of my journey it’s that I found more than 12 homeless people in less than 30 minutes. What have you done today ..? Did you help somebody? Or did you just complaining and blaming someone else ..? I just feel blessed, thank God. Happy Monday.

A very decent and kind thing to do.
