A thick cloud of smoke was seen rising from part of the construction site at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid on Wednesday evening.
Real Madrid's home stadium has been undergoing works throughout the entirety of this season, with the team playing their home matches at their academy ground, Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, while no fans have been allowed in due to Covid-19 regulations.
Videos surfaced on social media of the smoke coming from the stadium site, with Spanish sports daily Marca reporting that the tower of smoke could be seen from various parts of the city.
