Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler has reportedly been told he’s surplus to requirements

The German international only arrived in Paris in January

Julian Draxler’s time at Paris Saint-Germain appears to be up… already.

The German international only joined the club from Wolfsburg in January, but appears to be heading for the exit door after reports emerged claiming PSG manager Unai Emery had informed him he was no longer needed.

Neymar’s arrival at PSG appears to have forced the former Schalke 04 forward out of contention. His representatives have reportedly sounded out Barcelona about the possibility of a move to the Camp Nou after he wasn’t named in the PSG side that faced Guingamp last week. However, with Barca believed to be nearing a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele, it seems unlikely Draxler will move to the Spanish club at this time.

Draxler, who doesn’t turn 24 until September, has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs during his career, with Arsenal being credited with interest in the player on numerous occasions. Arsene Wenger is likely to be interested in a move for the player again – especially if the north London club decide to cash in on Alexis Sanchez in the days ahead.

Jose Mourinho, who has made little secret of his desire to sign a left winger, may also decide to move for the player after talks for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic appear to have broke down.
