Williams will not face any action from Norwich

Norwich City have reportedly spoken to Brandon Williams after the Manchester United loanee posted a picture to his Instagram story of himself putting up a middle finger.

The 21-year-old left-back featured in the Canaries’ 4-0 defeat to West Ham on Sunday and responded to allegations that supporters had tried to visit his home with two strong messages on social media.

Williams posted a picture of himself giving the middle finger on his story with the caption: “What a beautiful day. Easy up Norwich City.”

He then posted a picture of his dog outside in the garden, adding: “To all the fans who followed me home he’s always awake.”

The defender also posted a photo of his second dog, with the caption: “She’s always awake too.”

According to reports, a small group of people had been driving behind Williams in Norwich after the match, but did not arrive at his property.

Sportsmail report that Norwich City have spoken to Williams about the post, but that the situation has now been resolved and no action will be taken.

Expected to return to Man United in the summer

Williams joined Norwich on a season-long loan from the Red Devils at the start of the season, having made his first team debut at Old Trafford as a teenager under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Despite Norwich’s struggles, Williams has impressed during his time in Norfolk, holding down a regular starting berth under Daniel Farke and then Dean Smith.

During last weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa, a banner urging him to extend his stay at Carrow Road into next season was unfurled in the Villa Park away end.

However, the defender is expected to head back to United for pre-season, where Erik ten Hag will assess his squad before any decisions are made about the young defender’s future.
