Nicklas Bendtner reportedly arrested after incident with taxi driver

Danish media are reporting on the incident

Former Arsenal striker has reportedly been arrested after a violent altercation with a taxi driver. According to Danish newspaper BT, Bendtner broke the jaw of a taxi driver during an incident in Copenhagen in the early hours of Sunday morning. Rasmus Krochin, Communications Manager for DanTaxi, confirmed Bendtner was involved in a statement via Ekstra Bladet:

“I can confirm that there has been a serious assault on one of our drivers tonight. The driver is currently on the operating table with a broken jaw. Our director was informed about this morning. “ “The assault has been reported to the police and we can confirm that the assailant is Nicklas Bendtner.”

Bendtner has a chequered history of off-field problems. In 2014, BT reported that he got partially undressed and rubbed himself up against a taxi before calling the driver "a little whore." Bendtner, 30, has forged a nomadic career since leaving Arsenal in 2014. As well as loan spells at Juventus and Sunderland during his time at the Gunners, Bendtner has turned out for Wolfsburg and Nottingham Forest. He is currently with Rosenborg, having scored 23 goals in his first season for the Norwegian champions. He was left out of Denmark's World Cup squad due to injury.
