Neymar’s latest Barcelona goal sees him reach a significant milestone

Not bad for a 24 year old

As you’d expect from someone on the payroll at Barcelona, Neymar is an enormously talented football player.

Along with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, he’s formed one of the most feared attacking trios world football has ever known in recent years. More often than not, Messi has been the main headline maker of the the three, while Luis Suarez managed to outscore the Argentine during last season’s campaign.

But on Saturday afternoon, Neymar’s goal against Alaves saw him reach a significant milestone. With Suarez (2) and Messi also on the scoresheet, Neymar’s goal on 40 minutes saw him overtake one of his countrymen in terms of goals for the Nou Camp club.

His 95th goal in a Barcelona shirt saw him move ahead of the great Ronaldinho, whose spell at the club sparked their recent era of success.

Still just 24 years of age, Neymar’s long term contract with the club means he’s likely to stick around long enough to see him overtake the likes of Samuel Eto’o and Rivaldo who sit ahead of him in terms of goals for the club.

Not bad going at all, eh?

Ronaldinho, who played for Barca between 2003 and 2008, recently returned to the club in a sporting ambassadorial role.
