Neymar edges closer to Real Madrid move as he tells teammates he won’t return to PSG after World Cup

The transfer seems inevitable now

He is edging closer to a move to Real Madrid

Neymar’s time at Paris Saint-Germain has been strange. The league is at too low a level to test him, and PSG’s willingness to indulge his demands means he has been able to pick and choose when he trains and plays. The move always seemed odd, as Neymar is one of the best players in the world, and he should be testing him at the highest level, even if it means he can’t be the main man.

PSG always seemed like a stop gap between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Moving directly would have caused too much uproar and while Cristiano Ronaldo is there, Neymar won’t be the centre of attention. But the move could happen this summer, as Neymar has informed his teammates that he won’t return to Paris after the World Cup, according to Spanish newspaper, AS.

Neymar apparently announced the news to his teammates at a dinner hosted by Thiago Silva, that other players like Marco Verratti, Javier Pastore and Marquinhos attended.

Should Neymar move to Real Madrid, as it seems he will, he will have to share the limelight with Cristiano Ronaldo for one season at least, probably more. Ronaldo has no intention of leaving any time soon, so they will have to find a way to coexist, but Neymar has previously stated that he would love to play alongside the Portuguese forward.
