Another fan who is proficient in Photoshop sent the rumour mill even further into overdrive by tweeting out an apparent screenshot from Fekir's first interview in a Liverpool shirt (see featured image).
But all is not as it seems.
It's no secret that Liverpool were close to signing Fekir from Lyon in the summer but pulled the plug on the deal after the player's medical.
However all dealings with Fekir took place in France while the Photoshopped image places him in Melwood.

The detective work done by cynics suspicious of the leaked picture was made redundant by the confession by the individual who actually doctored the photograph (see above).
It remains entirely possible that Liverpool return in January with a bid for the France international but there is no truth to the latest rumours.
Speaking in August about why the move never materialised, Fekir pointed the finger of blame in Liverpool's direction.
"I heard a lot of things," Fekir said, via the Liverpool Echo. "The real reason? Only Liverpool know.
"These things happen, it's just how it is. We have to move on, it's well in the past now.
"I have totally come to terms with the failed transfer to Liverpool."Explore more on these topics:
