Exhausting, isn't it?
Reports on Thursday claimed Liverpool's medical staff had travelled to Paris to conduct a medical with the player, who is currently with the France team preparing for the World Cup. They added that he would cost Liverpool £48.4m with Lyon also set to receive a further £4.4m in bonuses, too.
If confirmed, he will become Liverpool's second major signing of the summer after the acquisition of Fabinho from AS Monaco. Naby Keita will become the third on July 1 when he arrives from RB Leipzig, assuming Liverpool don't decide to sign Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke before then.
The Swiss international indicated he would leave Stoke earlier in the week, with reports following that Liverpool were interested in activating the £12m relegation release clause in his contract.
Fekir appears to be the main objective for the time being however. Liverpool have been said to be keen to tie him down before he leaves for the World Cup. He is set to depart for Russia following France's final warm-up game with the USA on Saturday.Explore more on these topics:
