MMA’s biggest troll accused of going too far after mocking rival’s girlfriend

Absolutely no need for that

Talk about kicking a man when he’s down.

We all know what Colby Covington is about.

He’s an incredible fighter with a remarkable wrestling pedigree but he’s best known for being the biggest troll in all of mixed martial arts.

Covington has made a name for himself with his divisive use of social media, infamously tweeting out a Star Wars spoiler in December which was viewed by many as crossing the line.

Well if he didn’t go too far then, some of his fellow fighters think he has done so now following his unkind reaction to Mike Perry’s defeat at UFC on Fox 28 on Saturday night.

Perry, no stranger to controversy in his own right, fell to his second consecutive defeat in the UFC when he was upset by Max Griffin in Orlando, Florida.

Griffin claimed a unanimous decision over ‘Platinum’, whose girlfriend came in for some criticism for her advice from the corner.

Danielle Nickerson could be heard shouting for Perry to break Griffin’s leg, which is pretty unusual advice for any coach to offer.

But, immediately after the judges’ scorecards were read out and Griffin was declared the winner, Covington proved yet again why he is one of the most detested fighters on the entire roster by taking a shot at Nickerson’s appearance before suggesting that Perry was the product of inbreeding.

It’s been said that all is fair in love and war but the classless comment aimed at a fellow competitor was rightly ridiculed by several top UFC fighters.

Covington’s pro-wrestling shtick was somewhat entertaining for a while but when personal attacks at loved ones come into the equation, a line must be drawn.
