Max Holloway broke eight UFC records in his epic win over Calvin Kattar

Max Holloway smashed eight records in his win over Calvin Kattar at UFC Fight Island 7, it has been revealed. It was one of the most impressive individual showings in recent memory. The UFC featherweight champion picked up the win via decision after a gruelling battle with Kattar. It capped off a fantastic clash between two true warriors, and is, by some margin, Holloway's best performance to-date. At one point, the 29-year-old even turned to talk to the commentary team. Talk about showboating. • Number of significant strikes landed: 445
• Significant strike attempts: 744
• Distance strikes landed: 439
• Significant head strikes landed: 274
• Significant body strikes landed: 117
• Significant strikes landed in a single round: 141
• Total strikes landed: 447
• Total strikes attempted: 746

Of these records, perhaps the most impressive is the number of significant strikes landed. This puts Holloway almost a thousand strikes in front of the second best score on the list: 1,711. This strike rate is made all the more impressive when you consider the fact he's fought Conor McGregor, Jose Aldo and Dustin Poirier. He went up against Aldo and Poirier twice.
