Michael Conlan absolutely stole the show with a third round stoppage in Australia on Saturday night.

The Olympic bronze medallist is now 3-0 in his professional career after beating Jarrett Owen in Brisbane on the Manny Pacquiao vs. Jeff Horn undercard.

Conlan was fighting at the Suncorp Stadium and was able to convincingly finish off the Australian Owen in front of his home crowd.

The 25-year-old said that he plans to fight next on 22 September in, what will be expected to be, a jump in class from his three previous bouts.

The Belfast man has finished all three of his professional fights in the third round, backing up all the hype that surrounds him since he ditched the amateur scene in infamous circumstances.

“It’s an amazing atmosphere, an amazing amount of Irish here so I have to give my country credit,” said Conlan.

“I think we’re looking at the 22nd of September for the next one and I’ll be looking for a better performance than this one. Every performance is getting a little bit better and better.”
