It looks like the large Belgian man may finally be on his way

Marouane Fellaini is a man who divides opinion among Manchester United supporters. Some feel he isn’t anywhere near good enough to even wear the team’s jersey, while others see him as a capable player who “does a job”.

Even among those who like him however there was surprise and consternation when it emerged that he had rejected repeated offers of a new deal at the club over what he considered to be to an unsatisfactory financial offer.

As such, the news emerging today – that Fellaini’s representatives will meet with Arsenal ahead of the expiration of his contract on June 30 – will be met with mixed emotions from fans of the Red Devils.

According to Foot 365 journalist Patrick Juillard, there is serious interest on the part of the Gunners in signing the Belgian on a free transfer.

Fellaini had reportedly been close to agreeing a deal with AC Milan, before the move slowed down over his demands for a contract worth approximately €120,000-per-week after tax.

If speculation regarding Fellaini and new Arsenal manager Unai Emery – who some claim has already spoken to the 30-year-old about the move – prove to be true, it would appear that the Gunners are more willing to meet his demands than either United or Milan.
