The connection comes from her husband
Margot Robbie revealed during an interview for the film ‘I, Tonya’ that she supports Fulham.
The Australian, who is also known to be a fan of the New Orleans Saints in NFL and hockey side New York Rangers has developed an affection for the west London side thanks to her husband, Tom Ackerley.
Born in Surrey, the film producer has convinced Robbie to follow his footballing choice and the 33-year-old Barbie star is said to be a huge fan.
While promotion the film I, Tonya’ in 2017 – back when Fulham were in the Championship, she said: “I actually haven’t been to another Fulham game for a while, but I know they’re playing tomorrow against Aston Villa.
“And it’s my two best friends – well, it’s my husband and my other best friend Josie. Aston Villa’s Josie’s team, Fulham’s Tom’s team, so they’re going to the game and it’s tense already. I’m on the edge of my seat to see who wins.
“I’ve pledged my allegiance to Fulham, so I want Fulham to win.”
Robbie even atteneded a 1-0 defeat against Millwall at Craven Cottage, with the club tweeting a picture of her inside the ground saying: “Nice to see @MargotRobbie at the Cottage on Saturday, see you again soon! #FFC.”
There’s no doubt that Robbie will have been impressed with Fulham’s Premier League outing last season as the Cottagers finished in 10th place under Marco Silva.
She’ll be hoping that star man Aleksandar Mitrovic will stay in west London after he confirmed he would ‘never play for the club again’ following an offer from Saudi Pro League side, Al Hilal.
