Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has announced that he is close to returning to action following successful surgery on his shoulder.
The 24-year-old first suffered the injury towards the start of last season, however chose to hold off and play through the pain to help his side to reach the Europa League Final and feature in England's run to the Euro 2020 Final.
After a busy season, Rashford confirmed he would undertake the surgery during the summer to allow him to recover and feature for a large part of the season. The surgery has meant he has yet to feature for United so far but has recently provided an update which will no doubt be music to the ears of fans of the club.
In his latest post on Twitter, Rashford announced that he will "See the doctor on Friday for a consultation" before deciding if there is a possibility to return to training.

Both United and Rashford will be desperate for the forward to return to the ranks after an emphatic campaign last year which saw him score 22 times and assist 14 in all competitions - a career best for him so far.
However, it seemed that Rashford's excitement got the better of him as he had to correct himself and confirm to fans that it would only be a return to light training should the meeting be a positive one.

Despite the positive news, it is still unlikely that Rashford will feature for United until after the international break with tough fixtures against Villarreal and Everton to come this week.
It is also unexpected that Gareth Southgate will call him up for England duty on Thursday when he names his squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers to allow Rashford a better chance of returning to full fitness.
